Our Vision

At the Babies Heart Fund, we envision a world where all children grow up to be heart-healthy, strong adults. We strive to make this a reality by advancing the treatment of pediatric and congenital heart disease through critical funding that supports innovative clinical research, quality patient care and excellence in medical education at Columbia University Medical Center.

Proceeds to the Babies Heart Fund will be used toward:

• Research efforts in both the clinical and basic sciences whose aim is to understand the basic mechanisms of the development of congenital and acquired heart disease and to develop translational research programs to bring these “bench” findings to the “bedside.”
• Educational efforts to develop outstanding clinician-educators and clinician-scientists who will be the leaders in the field of congenital heart disease. In addition, it will support educational efforts for our patients and families so that they have a deeper understanding of the chronic nature of the conditions we are treating.
• Ongoing and transitional care programs for our rapidly growing population of young adults and beyond who require special expertise in both pediatric and adult cardiology care as well as other resources to help them navigate the health care continuum.
